once, when skimming through work, my then photo professor, caroline allison, stumbled across this photo of mine and realized that she had a photo that looked eerily similar. same tree. same repetitive foggy morning. both snapped haphazardly on the drive back to sewanee. 


looking back, it makes me wonder what it was about that moment, that tree, that captured both of our attentions and willed us to pick up our cameras? as photographers, are we all conditioned to look similarly at the world around us, or was this just a coincidence, marked by the view of something beautiful standing out from the rest of our foggy surroundings?
