today, i am absolutely appreciating the kindness of strangers. i stumbled across joyce gehl’s [above] beautiful encaustic work a few days ago, and casually sent her an email about her process with wax medium and photography, not really expecting the hear back.

but i just received the sweetest email from joyce, completely explaining her process, giving me other artists to look at, and even talking to me about my work [thank you google] and how wax could enhance it.

it is this kind of thing that reminds me how wonderful the art community is- full of support and help and encouragement. now i cant wait to get home and start playing with my paper that arrived today!
